Turning off auto sync completely to save power and internet

Each time I update my food/drink log in Fitbit app synchronisation occurs despite the fact that All-Day Sync is turned off. It consumes battery and internet connection for each new log entry -- approx 4-5 times per meal); and a number of times per day for update of water log. I would like to completly turn-off background synchronisation (to save battery/internet) and do it only manually, e.g. by clicking on Blaze icon in iOS app) when I need to sync my data.

By design, whenever the app is opened a sync will initiate, even if all day sync is turned off.  The best way of preventing a sync is to turn Bluetooth off on your phone (that will also save battery on the phone).  If you want, you can turn BT back on once you have closed the app.

I need Bluetooth on so it will sync with my car. Any other solutions?

In fact, you are right. I have two other devices which use BT and it should be turned on in my iPhone.

Another problem: without BT my experince with Blaze is limited -- there will be no call/sms/calendar notifications!

You can turn off use Bluetooth under your device settings.

Now when you log food,  it needs internet, since your logging the food on the Fitbit server. The app is just a gateway to the data on the server.
