Unable to shut down in settings

Hi, I just bought the Blaze two days ago and tried to shut the device down in the settings...didn't work so exchanged it and it still is doing the same thing! I can't imagine both having the same issue so I like to know what do I need to do? I just thought u press "shutdown" in the settings and it will do what it's supposed to do. I have the surge too and if u hold simultaneously the left button and the bottom right, it shuts it down too. The blaze seems to not do that. Any help would greatly be appreciated! I emailed customer service so waiting for a reply too. Thanks!

Hi @Rich_Laue and @SunsetRunner I got it to work!! I was just messing around with it and I notice that I have to double tap the shutdown to make it work! I didn't know I had to do that!! So yayyy now it works and I can breathe a sigh of relief now!! Thanks again for the help!!

Mysterious the Blaze doesn't want to shutdown from the settings @crenee01

Tapping 'shutdown', displays two buttons to tap: 'No & Yes'.. Yes turns the Blaze off..

To restart the tracker, press & hold the left and bottom right button until seeing the Fitbit Logo on the screen, then release the buttons.

If the tracker doesn't respond to either, there's nothing else we can do ourself.

Hi @SunsetRunner thank u for the reply. When I press shutdown in settings, the word gets highlighted but it doesn't do anything other than that..."yes" or "no" does not appear at all. And I've tried the restart too but again nothing worked. I must be unlucky for both Blaze's to have the same exact thing be wrong with it!! Well u know that saying, third time's the charm lol! But thank u again, I'll see if the customer service replies to my email that I sent yesterday.

Thank you so much, @SunsetRunner and for all your help!! And yes I hope they will too. It seems at this point they prob will suggest what u told me. But I've 15 days to exchange it at Best Buy. Maybe I'll get a different color as this one is giving me bad luck ☺️

I found that the word "Shutdown" has to be centered before i can get the yes/no

Nice @Rich_Laue

Just tested, with the setting displayed at the bottom of the screen it doesn't do anything when tapping except moving up a little.. then it's possible to tap, but sometimes it requires a few taps before responding..

Yea I definitely want to get the blue. I saw someone say the blue that they have when they bought the Fitbit it was a bright blue but the photos online at different retailers show a darker blue. Is it really a brighter blue. I wouldn't mind that at all 🙂 @Rich_Laue

It is not a bright, but a darker blue, but a little brighter than the Blue Surge

This pict from bottom to top Surge Blue, Blaze Blue, Blaze Black. They are on the Blue inside box the Blaze comes in and a white card.

Hi, I'm new to my Blaze. While it takes a little playing with at first to figure stuff out, (knock on wood) it's pretty user friendly.  I don't knowingly have an issue with the Shut Down option, although it won't shut down.  I just assumed it wasn't suppose to and was protecting itself from a newbie like me.

But now I'm curious, what is it for, should I be shutting my Blaze down periodically (mine never turns off); again, no problems I am aware of, works great (KOW).

Lastly, and I know this is sad to admit to a tech people, but the only PC I have is Windows 7, because frankly after iPhones and iPads came out  I have had NO need for a computer- except to charge my Blaze Smiley Frustrated.  I didn't even have my computer charged to charge my Blaze so I used my iPhone wall wart while setting up the Blaze on the iPhone app. Once they synced on their own, my phone app said it was not up to date.  Just as I was about to get discouraged and frustrated, the iPhone 6s Plus began to update the watch, again with no help from myself.  In other words, I was able to follow the ridiculously simple set up directions on the little card, using only my ability to read and the FitBit app for iOS on my iPhone. So I actually have had better luck trouble shooting using my phone and my Blaze's battery charges faster and stays charged longer when I simply plug it in to my phone's USB. However I don't know if it make a difference, but I always make sure my FitBit app is open and synced to my Blaze when I plug it in to charge.

**Thus far, every time I have used my computer, it shows my watch having the outdated version, I can't change the face on my watch, and while it shows the watch and computer having been synced, it's always based on 5-10min prior, the last time my phone synced with the watch. So the computer app and charging it via my PC's USB has done nothing helpful or advantageous versus using my iPhones charging USB, which also allows the phone's FitBit app to update and allows me to 'play' with the options.

The only question still left unanswered is the Shut Down option and what it's true purpose is.

Thank you in advance for your patience through my very long question/comments.
