When will an update for Blaze be released?

I'm returning my Blaze to the store today. Having used Fitbit trackers continuously since 2011--first the One, then Ultra, then Charge HR--I can't get over how incredibly inaccurate the step-count is on the Blaze. It's only counting a little more than 50 percent of my steps. In numerous 100-step tests, the Blaze never counted more than 65 steps. Yes, I restarted the Blaze, re-downloaded the app, changed wrists, changed dominant/non-dominant setting, swung my arms, didn't swing my arms, manually entered my stride length, let the app automatically determine my stride step . . . NOTHING WORKED!

Fitbit, I expect so much more from you guys! You're one of my favorite companies . . . If a software update--or some other remedy--is released in the future that fixes the step-count issue, I will happily purchase another Blaze. I see moderators posting on the forum that Fitbit is aware of the problem, but no one is saying when a fix will be available. Does anyone at Fitbit have a clue as to when a fix might be pushed?

Thanks.

@ScribeGuy as for the update, only the developers know.

I also have found with a 100 step count my steps recorded are 20 -25 steps short, but when i do a 500-1000 step count test, the steps are still only 20-25 steps short, sometimes even less.

Some have reported inaccuraces while others say their counts are good, Fitbit says.they looking into why this is, could it be a simply some sensor slightly out of spec?

Judging by the same type of thing happened with the Charge and Surge, and Fitbit was able to straighten it out, i have full confidence that this to will be fixed. It will take some time as was so with the other models mentioned, since the problem needs to be identified,  software written, tested, to make sure it works without affecting the accuracy of currently good units.

After hearing about this issue from many Blaze owners I performmed a few step tests of my own. 50 steps, 100 steps, checked stride length vs running distances and step count, etc. I have never found the Blaze to be off by more than a few steps.

Maybe I am just lucky and got a tracker that works as expected.

It's pretty comical that there has been no update recently for the blaze. Thousands of requests and nothing. Take the money and run is what it sounds like to me.

I took this issue to customer service last night.  I heard back today"our team is aware of the problem and are working to resolve it(not verbatum--but i can look it up).  I had 3 issues to bring to their attention.

I did ask that someone from "the team" come to the forums and address the thousands of CUSTOMERS that read here.  yup, that's me the lowly customer....i told them i was sorry i purchased the device.  it's not accurate, takes jumping through hoops to get through problems....and the watch faces...

I am moving over to Pebble Time when i have more $$ to splurge..they made their algorithm available, they addressed an accuracy issue,  HR issue, fittbit has not.  (they promise seamless connectivity and hey if you don't want their bands...feel free to attach your own without someone telling you it "voids the warranty"...I also told customer service that was posted here).  they have several apps and "thousands of watch faces"...they have a gunmetal bezel choice that they do not charge extra for (and gold and brushed silver).

I don't like being told that they cannot fix something..i don't notice them refunding or extending the replacement warranty for THEIR ERROR.  not us --the customer.

I don't know if i can find activity groups, but i am going to try.  I sure am not winning any of my challenges with my Blaze, i come in at the bottom daily.  kind of discouraging--and then to be told that they can't tell me WHEN it will be fixed...(but it is coming in the next firmware update)...in the interim fitbit is still promoting the product and trying to gouge the customer (yes that's us) an addtional $30.00 for a different color.

thanks for reading....i am frustrated and angry.  but I did get my fitbit to connect again to my phone--i had went back to my first thread from April that had easy to follow steps..so that is good.

I see that today the most resent firmware update post/thread is no longer pinned to the top of the page. Could that mean a new one is forthcoming? <fingers crossed>

We can only hope!

I returned my Blaze on Friday. If a fix is ever released, I'll buy it again . . . until then, there's no point owning a fitness tracker that can't accurately track steps!

I foolishly purchased my Blaze through Fitbit themselves...I should have bought it through Costco.  They accept anything back under the warranty time for any reason.  And the fitbit Blaze is now ON SALE for $189.00 with 2 rubber watch bands...one black and one blue.

i cannot return and i suppose I am SOL if it fails, unless  there is something i am mis-reading.

i will be happier if they manage to give me an accurate  (imagine that) distance/step count without having to set it to take giant steps.  This is beyond frustrating.

i was a big fan until the Blaze disappointed me.
