Why distance is different for my activity?

Can anyone explain why my Fitbit Blaze distance show different to my activity on my phone, today for example according to my phone Fitbit activity I travelled 12.6 km but my Fitbit blaze shows only 8.62 km. The two were not synced as I was finding that if they were synced I was getting a misreading as the distance was going from the Blaze which I know is not true.

Hey there @Osborndo. Good to see you in the Community! 🙂

Just to make sure, it's when both your tracker and your phone are synced that the information about the distance on your Blaze and on your dashboard don't match right?

I would recommend restarting your tracker by pressing and holding the left and lower right button for 10-12 seconds and after that, your tracker will reboot. Also, log out and log back in from your Fitbit account and see if after logging back in and syncing your information matches.

Is this also happening with other stats as steps, calories burned, floors climbed, etc. or is it just with the distance?

Also go to fitbit.com and check today's stats on the web.
I frequently find they are updated and match the tracker, even when app says the tracker did not sync, and is showing 6 hour old data.

its unfortunate the app seems to lose track of current stats. While extreme, this example happens to me far too often over the last year.
