sleep, syncing and heart rate issues

I have noticed two issues after updating my device to the latest firmware.

  • Firstly: my sleep no longer is showing in the app.
  • Secondly: runs no longer sync to Strava, but bicycle rides do (runs are showing in the Fitbit app).

I'm connecting to an iPhone 6S with the latest iOS app. Tried to re-pair the device with the phone and also tried pairing the device with an old iPhone 5. Also tried rebooting the watch. Anybody else experiencing this? Any suggestions on fixing either or both issues?

EDIT: I noticed this morning my heart rate also doesn't appear to be tracking.

It's great to see you around @LurchZA, thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself.

I will be glad to help you with the issues you are experiencing with your Blaze:

  • About the sleep, have you checked if the tile is there? If you haven't, I recommend checking this and if the tile isn't there, you just need to tap the "Edit" option and add it. Also, if you can provide me with a screenshot would be great.
  • About the syncing with Strava, please take a look at this post and follow the instructions provided there.
  • About the heart rate, check this post, there you will see some things that might be affecting this reading and some tips to improve it.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

Hi Alejandra

I reviewed your reference to another post regarding heart rate accuracy and I have quoted the stated text herein.

"

  1. With high-intensity interval training, P90X, boxing, or other activities where your wrist is moving vigorously and non-rhythmically, the movement may prevent the sensor from finding an accurate heart rate. Similarly, with exercises such as weight lifting or rowing, your wrist muscles may flex in such a way that the band tightens and loosens during exercise. Try relaxing your wrist and staying still briefly (about 10 seconds), after which you should see an accurate heart rate reading. Note that your tracker will still provide accurate calorie burn readings during these types of exercise by analyzing your heart rate trends over the course of the workout. "

This states that Fitbit somehow provides accurate calore burn reading during exercises such as weight lifting by looking at heart rate. I am wondering myself how it would be possible if weight training by definition involves a significant contribution from the anaerobic energy cycles. How does heart rate relate to anaerobic energy expenditure in Fitbit's view?   I assume you work for Fitbit and if necessary if you could solicit a response from a suitable team I would sincerely appreciate the help and thanks a lot for your help.

Hi @AlejandraFitbit,

I appreciate the assistance.

Screenshot attached.

As you can see, the tiles are both there (plus I am currently wearing the watch)

I've revoked and re-added the Strava connectivity so will see if the runs from last week sync.

With regards to heartrate, my watch has been in the same position and the same tightness for the past 10 months (give or take) since I got it so I don't really think any of those specific scenarios are applicable.

Literally the only thing that changed from one day to the next is the firmware upgrade, all these functions worked previously.
