I have a Charge 2.
This week I've noticed my sleep hours are doubled than what they actually are. When I first sync in the morning, it shows the correct amount of sleep, but when I check the app again (so second time for the day), the hours are doubled. The double hours shows on the app dashboard and in the bar charts when I open the sleep area, however, the correct hours are still there when I look at the night specifically. For example, last night I got 6 hr 10 min of sleep with 1x awake/14x restless. On the homescreen/app dashboard, it says I slept for 11 hr 14 min with 26x awake/14x restless. The homescreen/app dashboard shows the correct times for when I fell asleep and when I woke up, so it's obviously miscalculating my sleep the second time I open the app for the day. I'm confused as to why this is happening and why it is affecting the charts.
In addition, the dashboard online here, when I open my computer, has been showing fewer hours. And right now as I'm writing this with my app open, my hours for the evening just changed to show what the computer says I got last night, 5 hr 31 min with 25x awake/0x restless. Still the same sleep start and end times. My app keeps resyncing on its own when I have it open on my phone. I know it should sync upon the initial open of the app, but continuously when it's open? Help please! Last week I restarted it because my sleep hours weren't showing on the charts at all, per the Fitbit restart instructions.

Hi everyone - thanks for posting.
Sleep hours doubling in the app is an issue that our engineers are aware of. It looks like updating the Fitbit app fixed the issue for many of you, so I would suggest trying that before posting. Let me know if that doesn't solve the problem!

I am still having this problem and can't update the app; I think it's already updated. This problem only started after I ran a firmware update a week and a half ago. I don't have any indication (on my phone) that there are other updates available now, so this isn't a solution for me. I am running an older version of software on my iPhone (iOS 8.4.1). Could this be the problem? Why don't any updates to the FitBit app appear to be available for me?

I did the update and the double recording is now sorted and showing single hours 🙂

Hi I've had this problem with the sleep hours being almost double on the dashboard for over a week. Have kept checking the App Store for an update but none available. Please advise.

Uninstall the app and then reinstall. The update worked for me but if that's not there, uninstalling the app and reinstalling should work. You will probably lose your past data but it should start over like it's new.

This is still happening to me - my iPhone says there is no update available. Interestingly, if I go to my dashboard on my computer it gives me the correct number of sleep hours. Then, the next time I sync with my phone my phone's dashboard it corrects the hours.

I'm having the same problem. I updated the App 2 days ago and it is still happening.

Hi, how can I fix the issue with sleep hours doubling if there is no update available in the App Store? Had the problem for around 6 weeks now.

I have had my Charge 2 for exactly 9 days. In that time FitBit has already replaced the Pebble because of this sleep issue and many others (not tracking steps, disappearing miles, heart rate not tracking, etc.). This sleep doubling is by far the most annoying to me. The software updated when I got my new Pebble yesterday and it is still NOT working. I see three different sleep calculations - dashboard will say double (ex. 15hrs), the graph will say another time, and the log will have he correct time. I really wish I could just have my old Charge back because I never had a problem with it. Anyone know if FitBit is actually working on these issues or if I should just return this thing and get an Apple watch? Multiple calls in to customer support just seem to leave me more frustrated and without further answers.

@Alex_JM yes, that could definitely be an issue. You'll have to update your phone's OS in order to update to the latest version of the Fitbit app.
@camporivera @draygo @Cally28 great news!
@Loubail7 @Lisanewton @AshATL please make sure you're phone's software is updated to the latest version. If it's not, you may not see an option to update to the latest version of the app. Read more about iOS requirements here - and Android OS requirements here.

Did the update. Fixed it for last night and the history is updated as well.
The update also has improved resting heart rate information. The resting heart rate is important for fitness level, so would be nice if it does not go up because of periods of restless sleep.

Hi Callie:
Just about a year after these other users’ posts - I’m having the same issue.
Just updated my iPad mini 4 as some solutions suggested make sure your IOS is up to date: check! Fitbit app indicated no update needed. I use a Charge 2.
This am (Friday) noted in the monthly sleep view, Thursday’s time was over 13 hours. Dashboard showed just over 7 (the correct amount). ALSO: the dashboards sleep indicator for Thursday only, did NOT show the newer rem, light or deep sleep details: it shows the old style “awake, asleep” details. See photos.
This is the first time I’ve seen this problem and while this glitch display really improved my average sleep this week so far, can’t have it.
My main focus has been working on my sleep habits and times, my reason for wearing your
device.
Thanks - kelly

Hi now 3 years later now I have this showing last Friday I slept about 8 hours shown by my bedtime and wake up time. But the bar chart above has Fridays bar sowing about 16 hours sleep - so double like you say. So the bar graph looks squashed as my 7 hour typical line has moved low down due to this spike. The only thing I can think to do is edit the sleep and enter it manually. I was wondering if that will correct it. But this should not be happening. I Will try to do a software update.
