I bought one of the first Charge 5s and after a few months the battery inexplicably started draining in a few hours when it had been roughly a week. I had made no changes in settings and rebooted many times. I was finally sent a reconditioned replacement, and the same thing happened within in the first week. I was required to send it back to confirm that it was bad that time, and evidently it was because I was sent a brand new unit. It's worked great for ~7 months, but now is doing the same thing. Battery life was fine, I didn't change anything at all, and two days ago something went wrong and battery life is now roughly two hours, no matter what I do. I've again rebooted and charged several times and nothing has improved. This time I'm told it's not under warranty, which seems a bit ridiculous as not a single one has lasted a year and dealing with customer support is a pain every, single time. I'm offered only a discount on a new one at this point, but I'm wondering if paying is worth it for a product that apparently can't go more than a few months without failing. Have I just had remarkably bad luck, or am I just supposed to expect to buy a whole new watch every year as long as I want to stick with Fitbit? Has anyone had a Charge 5 last over a year?

My charge 5 worked for 18 months and battery was dead last week. Same question, do we expect to buy a new one every 1 year/ 1.5 year?
