Blank screen and random buzzing on Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Mine buzzed like the timer was going off this morning (fully charged) and then the screen went blank and totally unresponsive.  I changed the clock face in the app, and that didn’t do anything. I reset it while on the charger with the three presses in eight seconds, and that didn’t do anything. So then I went into the app and disconnected the device and then deleted the app and reinstalled the app and then reconnected my charge five and for a while it worked. But then about two hours later, it went dark again and I haven’t been able to revive it. It is still counting my steps, but I am missing all the other functionality.  I guess I’ll try restarting it and delete the app again and see if that is a lasting fix. Ugh!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @watergirl1222.

Thanks for letting me know about this situation in regards to the screen and buzzing of your Charge 5.

Can you let me know if this situation has continued, please? Also, mention if you've tried any other step, so I can continue checking what's going on with this. You can check instructions on how to restart the Charge 5 here if needed, sometimes you need to try a couple of times more to restart it.

The problem has persisted and I can no longer get any response from my
Charge 5. I disconnected it from the app, deleted the app again,
reinstalled it and now I am unable to reconnect to the app because the 4
digit code will not show on the device. So it’s useless to me now.

Do you have any ideas to help me out?

Thanks!

🙂 in the end, love is all that matters...

Many people are having the same problems, coincidentally all at the same time. I recommend looking at some other topics in the Charge 5 forums, although it won’t help you because there are no solutions and Fitbit won’t admit that there’s a problem. It looks like recent device updates are bricking Fitbits.
