From How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
Almost the other way around. For calorie burn, Fitbit calculates BMR as described above, them figures additional calorie burn based on heart rate and weight (and perhaps age, sex, etc). It just figures out what calories you are burning without trying to , do any matching to what you say you are eating. I.E. It would give the calorie burn no matter what you said you ate today, or whether or not you did any food logging.

Best AnswerI forget exactly which formula Fitbit uses but there are plenty of BMR calculators out there. For instance here's the first one Google found https://www.calculator.net/bmr-calculator.html
Just put in age, gender, height, weight.
I've found they all give fairly similar results. Now if are talking about trying to put in activity levels, that's a totally different thing from BMR and much more subjective.
