Calories burned Charge 5 Inaccurate

I been using the Charge 5 for seven day now. I do not wear my fitbit when sleeping. This morning I woke up to 345 calories burned on my device. I understand that we burn calories while sleeping, but as I stated, I do not wear the device while sleeping. I tried to reset the device by pushing the button on the lower part of the charger. That hasn't worked. Is there a fix for this issue, or do I need to return my device for a different model? Thank you.

Your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) calorie burn is credited even when you are not wearing your Fitbit.  If you were alive, you were burning those calories, and Fitbit knows that.  The same minimal calorie burn rate would be give any time you are not wearing it.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
