Hi everyone. Happy New Year to you!
I just started using my new Fitbit Charge 5 - not had a Fitbit before
I am enjoying using it while on a run and it's great to know it helps me keep my heart-rate at a safe level
However today, after setting up payments yesterday, I tried to buy a drink with my Fitbit part-way through a 15k run. It looks like you can't pay while the Fitbit is in running mode. Is that right? I ended my run, paid for my drink, then started a new run, but that's a pain tbh - shame if I can't use it to pay while on a run.
is that just how it works or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
Paul

Hello @paulcpaulc and welcome to the Community. No, you’re not doing anything wrong. The Exercise app must run in the foreground. You must be on your clock face to swipe to get to Fitbit pay. Unfortunately, you need to exit the Exercise app to pay.

To access pay during a run/walk, double tap the button. Pick the Wallet. Enter code of needed.
After paying, tap the button to return to the run/walk.

@paulcpaulc @Rich_Laue I’m sorry if I gave a wrong answer and welcome the correction. I based my answer on previous experience with other apps like the C25k app and my exercise app.
I just tried this on my Sense 2 and could get to the wallet. The Charge 5 is a lot like my Luxe and doesn’t have any buttons. I think you double tap the screen. But I might be wrong about that, too. 😉

Hi Rich. So sorry, but what do you mean by, "double tap the button"? What button? I don't have a button on my Charge 5. I tried double-tapping the watch face but nothing happened.

@Specky You’re correct that the Charge 5 doesn’t have buttons. For some features, you double press the button on devices that have buttons and you double tap the screen on the Charge 5/Luxe. Some Charge 5 users also say that the double tap on the screen doesn’t always work on the first try.
I’m going to ask a moderator to help answer this question.

Thanks - will try again as it must be user error on my part! That's what I hoped tbh

You don’t need to wait for your next run to test it. Just start any exercise, then try the double tap and see if it works. I test many features without leaving my house - and sometimes I don’t leave my chair.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.
@paulcpaulc and @Specky Thanks for the details provided, and your efforts while working on this matter. Let me clarify it's not possible to access other apps when using the Exercise app on your Charge 5, as you'll need to stop and finish your activity first. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and my best advice is to add your vote to this request posted in the Feature Suggestions board. That way, our developers can keep tracking the popularity of this idea over time.
@LZeeW and @Rich_Laue Thanks for stopping by to help our members.
