I have been having issues with my fitbit for a week now (issues in another post). The recommendation was to reset to factory settings. It did not fix any of the issues and now the firmware says it is 188.58. How do I force update to the new 194 firmware? I'm hoping this will fix the issue.

You can't force a firmware update, you'll get a notice in the Fitbit app on your phone that an update is available.
But based on the comments in this thread you may not to install it if's offered to you.

Hi there, @christinas_7. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear about the issues with your Charge 5. We're here to help you! @gdio53 Thank you so much for your input!
Since you've performed a factory reset on your Charge 5, please note that the latest update isn't available until up to 48-72 hours after the setup.
Nevertheless, I'd like to help you with the issues you are experiencing with your Fitbit device. Would you mind giving me more details about them?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I'm also having trouble getting any option to update from 188.58. My main interest in firmware upgrade is to be able to install my favorite clock face "Glimpse". Is there any way to force the update if factory reset is not helping?

Please read the posts in this thread before deciding if the update is worth the chance of bricking your device.

thanks @gdio53 but I did get the 194 update on another charge 5 (since lost) and did not have any issues with it at all. If anything got better battery life and sensor performance

UPDATE 4/21/24: Sister called this morning and her Charge 5 has the dreaded battery drain.
I had a Charge 5 that was bricked a couple of weeks after I updated, but my sister has 1 that has been going strong for months. Upgrading is a risk I wouldn't take, especially if the device is out of warranty.

I'm willing to take the risk, I don't like any of the other watch faces at all 😂

Hi there I'm wondering if your able to help me with my fitbit it's less than 8 months old and it's not working at all everything I try isn't working and when I called the fitbit support they were unable to do anything to help me and I find that very unprofessional to do to a paying customer. I buy this watch and pay for the monthly reports just to have them tell me that they can't help me? That's not really right of a company to do. Can you please please please help! Thank you very much I would really appreciate it a lot!
