I have tried searching for this topic and seached for how to turn off autosync on the IPhone app. Can't find it. I've owned a Charge 5 for less than an year and have had great battery life until in last week. Overnight it was lasting for a week to draining in 36 hours. I have no clue what happened or what settign might have been changed accidentally.

Me too now.  I got a replacement earlier this year for one with a screen issue and it was working fine until i swapped my phone.  It was fine for the first 2 days.  Then i went for a run on the third day after replacing my phone (using the run workout feature on the watch).  Since that run,  the battery barely lasts 24 hours.  It never asked for any updates or anything just a stopped keeping its charge.  I've had it way less that 6 months and it was fine until Wednesday this week.  So frustrating 😫

Yep it's so frustrating! My main reason for loving the Fitbit Is I could
track all my usage for 5-8days before and now it lasts as long as a really
tech heavy smart watch like a Samsung or apple yet it doesn't have the
features. Think I will be going in and getting this replaced if Fitbit
doesn't respond. I will be on my FIFTH watch by then

My Fitbit 5 has gone from 7-ish days battery life to about 30mins today (Monday 31st July).

I’ve had to charge it true times today!

The app says firmware is up to date.

Garmin is looking like a viable alternative now.

Is there any way we can roll back firmware? I'm very close to returning this Fitbit. I can't believe a firmware update ruined the product and Fitbit hasn't released a fix in 6 months.

Best Answer
Apparently not, some of us who much earlier in charge 5 saw this issue
complained to Fitbit and requested a rollback firmware, but no response for
the longest time. Ask for a replacement and don't update it seems the only
alternative/solution.

I got a replacement watch. They told me that I can use the updated firmware. I haven’t tried yet, but reading all these comments saying the firmware still messes up the watch, I’m scared to update now.

Don't update it. Mine was a brand new replacement as well. Instantly ruined since I updated. Battery lasts 20 to 36 hours now. It's a disaster

This seems to have snuck back up in the last month, early July I could go all week on a charge, now I'm not even getting through the day without getting critical battery low. I have done a retart, even reset and sync back to phone...still dead before end of day, not even 2 years old. Is this typical?

I've noticed that when I use the Charge 5 to track my bike rides it just eats up the battery life. It seems to need at least a 40% charge to be able to support a 1.5 hour bike ride. Without the bike ride my charge last 5 to 7 days between charges, but as soon as I use it on my bike rides it dies before I can get home. A bit frustrating... I'm glad I also use a cycling app on my phone to track my rides!

It's quite typical now once you've done the new update. The products
effectively broken for many people now since battery lasts 1/7th of what
it's rated for

Hi Davide Fitbit,

I've exhausted all the troubleshooting options that you provided and contacted customer service twice from the link you provided (thank you!). It seems the battery issue on charge 5 is not fixed yet through the latest firmware update. It also seems like fitbit does not want to honour warranty replacements due to this issue and first needing to ask the community to go through all these steps for diagnosis, knowing full well its a fitbit error.

This is not a great user experience and very frustrating for the whole community and frankly wasting our time.

Fitbit needs to do the right thing and help with the warranty replacements.

Or switch to Apple Watch which I believe I am going to do.

None of the suggestions helped! Still only get a few hours out of a full charge!

I swapped from Apple Watch to Fitbit.

Until the epic battery fail last week Fitbit was winninghands down.

BTW, I have been "chatting" with support and after running a diagnostic cycle they said they'd get back via email with options. That was Friday afternoon.

Great service fitbit! /s

I just wanted to jump in to share my woes. Same issue as the original poster. My Charge 5 is about 7 months old. I do not use "always on display". I track typically one walk or bike ride per day using the Workout/GPS function. Up until a week ago, my fitbit would last almost a week on a full charge with this activity. On July 31, my fitibit died suddenly at work. I charged it up to 100% and it died again before the end of the day. Since then, I did all the resets, checked settings, etc. I am getting about 36 - 48 hours of battery life from a full charge now, and I'm barely using the Workout/GPS tracking. Very sad and frustrating. Contacted Fitbit support yesterday and they stated 'working as expected'. Has anyone had any luck with fixing this?? Side note - I am on firmware 57.20001.188.58

I went through the same channels and also received an email offering a discount to purchase a new fitbit. My fitbit is only 1.5 years old, so I'd rather they fix their product instead of asking me to buy a new one.

I didnt even manually update anything...but my watch has gone from lasting a week, to not even lasting 10 minutes on a full charge. If it lasted a full day, it would still be usable, but its just junk now.

Nothing on the forums is of any use, no input from Fitbit staff has any answers, even though theyre marked as "solutions" or "best answer". Im going to upgrade to a Galaxy Watch now.

My Charge5 also has the same problem, power drained to 0 within 1 day.  It's really frustrating and the so-called smart watch is not really smart! It became rubbish only a year from purchase.

I started wearing mine in the shower, and Ive had problems since then I think. I had previously used it in swimming pools with no issue, but the problems began this week which coincided with shower use.

I cant say for sure, of course...but another weird thing I THINK is happening, is it wont charge to 100% anymore either, it only goes to 99% now. I dont know if it hasnt been doing that in the past, and Im only noticing it now since Im analysing battery and charge behavior, but that could also be a weird side effect to whatever is happening.

Mine also will not charge to 100% anymore. It only goes to 99%.
