Charge 5 Critical Battery Issue

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Charge 5 that was a replacement of my Charge 3 which had warranty issues.  Support will not honor the 1 year warranty on the Charge 5.  Fitbit is not a reputable product with all the issues I've had with both devices, and now they won't honor the 1 year warranty of the Charge 5.  Has anyone else had similar Support and replacement woes?

Hi, @prhomasmeier , please see the relevant information about how long replacement products are warranted:

“Any replacement Product will be warranted for the remainder of the original Warranty Period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer, or for any additional period of time that may be required by applicable law.”

As the Charge 3 is now an older device it will no longer be covered by any warranty, and in that case if you have had the replacement Charge 5 for more than 30 days it will also not be covered.  This is a typical clause in most warranties for electrical and electronic products (and quite probably others).  In this case Fitbit is simply acting according to its terms clearly laid out.

Maybe someone in the Community here could help you with the issue you are having with the Charge 5 if you would like to post a little more information?

Are you a Fitbit employee?

The applicable phrase is "any additional period of time that may be required by applicable law.” Luckily, Oregon has a "Lemon" law which mandates on replacements "an identical warranty period as the original product" The end result is that Fitbit must honor a replacement Charge 5 (or an equivalent product) due to the battery issues associated with my Charge 5 which is still within the year warranty.
The fact remains that I have had two Fitbits and both have failed within a year of purchase.
