Charge 5 not recording sleep data

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My charge 5 recording has been erratic at best since the beginning.  It has now not recorded anything for the past four nights: “no data”.
I do not change the positioning. The most annoying aspect is the failure to record sleep, which is why I bought it.  Consistently having to restart the watch isn’t acceptable.
advice please.
Thank you.

Hi there, @Gethjane.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, and for trying the restart process. I understand where you're coming from and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We constantly work to improve our devices, and feedback like yours helps us to make that happen.

Regarding your inquiry, let me share that there are a number of factors that can impact the accuracy of sleep tracking, including: moving around too much during the night and sleeping in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading. This at the same time affects other stats such as sleep scores, health metrics and stress score.

To work on this together, please make sure your tracker is updated to the latest version, wear it about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone and monitor its behavior in the next few days.

I’ve been having the same issue with my Charge 5 since Monday.  For the past 5 nights it’s only telling me how long I slept but not giving me a sleep score or any other sleep data.  Tried restarting my device as well as cleaning the back of the device.

Thank you for your advice. I have downloaded the latest version and moved the tracker further up on my wrist. Hopefully this will make a difference.

I am following the advice of LizzyFitbit.  I have never updated the version, which was obviously needed, and it seems I was not wearing the device far enough up my wrist.  Both suggestions now complied with.
I have restarted frequently in the past and am pretty good at keeping the back clean, plus removing the strap and cleaning that and the connection points.

Remains to be seen if the issue is solved!

Yesterday I updated to the latest software, cleaned the back of my device
and restarted it and I still didn’t receive a sleep score or additional
data. Very frustrating.

I have the same issue. Sleep tracking has been erratic for the past week - some days there's a score, other days it says couldn't get consistent heart rate (but heart rate data in the main graph looks consistent to me which makes me think it's a software problem?). Breathing rate has only tracked 3 out of 7 nights But spo2 has tracked every night.
