not vibrating when reaching distance goal

My main goal is distance and it's set to 1 mile so it should vibrate for every mile. It vibrates at 1.61 miles. 1.61 miles is 1 km so I think there's some sort of issue with the units. I made sure that the units were in fact already set to inches/feet/miles and so that did not fix the issue. Both the iphone app and the device's software are up to date.
