Charge 5 Display Sensitivity

Have only owned the device for a couple days. I don't know if I have a defective device or just don't understand it. When I double click the display, it disappears before I can scroll to the other windows,

Is it a defective device or is it me?

Hello @Dave1935

That sounds like you might be taking time to get used to it.  The default screen time is about 3 or 4 seconds, but obviously lasts longer if you start tapping or swiping.  There might be a knack to it.  Keeping your finger on the screen and scrolling or swiping, keeps it active for longer.

I think it might be a good idea to set your Screen Wake to Auto instead of Manual, so you don't need to keep tapping.  To do that, scroll down from the clock face 3 times until you get to Screen Wake.  If it's on Manual, you need to tap to wake it up, if you change to Auto, it should turn on when you turn your wrist to look at the display (at least most of the time).

You could, if you want to try, set the time out on the screen to last longer.  What you need to do is swipe down as soon as the screen comes on until you reach Settings, then Display Settings, then swipe up to Time Out. If the screen turns off while you're in the middle, when you tap again, it should bring you back to the same place.  It gives a warning that it uses a bit more battery, but if you tap it it changes to Medium, if you tap again, Long.  If you tap again, it goes back to Default.

It might just be a case of practicing until you can do it easily.

I hope that helps a bit.

Apparently, there is a technique to scrolling because it is not coming easy for me. I finally was able to scroll to Screen Wake and have it set to Manual and really like that feature. I also managed to scroll to Settings and set it at Long. Know it will reduce battery but will set back as I get used to it. The display still turns off as I am scrolling which is quite frustrating. I'm guessing it is not defective just "cockpit failure". Have a lot to get used to because I am graduating from an HR which I am guessing is probably 5 or more years old.

Thanks for the help!
