Charge 5 Dying

So, this is my second Charge 5 replacement. I have done well and managed to get it to last for 14 months!  It's out of warranty now.  To keep it going I have had to wrap my wrist in clingfilm before going for a run, I live in a hot climate and I think the sweat killed my last one.  GPS has always been rubbish, occasionally works, and if it does, it won't pick up my whole run, and sometimes has me doing what look like zig zag runs into peoples gardens, and even into the sea!  A few weeks ago I had to turn off GPS completely as it started to drain the battery 20 minutes into my run, thus causing the device to repeatedly shutdown and restart.

My silent alarms have always randomly not gone off, the majority of the time they're fine, then all of a sudden they will just not work, I have to deleted and re-add.  This means they're not reliable when you have an important time to be up to do something.
For 2 months the app has logged out overnight, I have tried all the suggestions to sort this, but it still happens.
I dare not swim with my Charge 5, as regardless of what Google tell you it's not waterproof even with the waterlock on.  That's what killed the second replacement I had.
Since Sunday the battery has started to drain very quickly, I have to charge it multiple times a day now, and this indicates to me that it's not got long left.  I read on a post here that Google say the battery life is only two years - I have never had a device since Charge 3 (that was a great device), that lasted more than 14 months!
I have decided now that I need to look for something else, something reliable in both it's tracking and it's life.  if anyone has any suggestions I would be interested to read them - I would like something around the same size a Charge 5.  To anyone reading this, do not believe the blurb about FitBit, it doesn't last, you'll have to have multiple replacements meaning it's out of action, it's a very needy device, it's GPS is not accurate (if it works), and, in most cases, you CANNOT swim with it!
