Charge 5 ECG scanner going haywire

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had a Fitbit Charge 5 for a few days now. The ECG scan function was working fine for the first few days. But now I am getting inconclusive results every reading. I've cleaned my arm and the band and I am holding the sides correctly and am still getting no reading. The scanner does appear to be working, but the line on the screen goes all over the place and doesn't resemble a heart beat at all (like it did when I first got the Fitbit). My friend has tried it too, and got the same haywire reading.

Is this likely to be an issue with the sensor? Should I take it back to the store and ask for a replacement?

Any help would be appreciated 🙂

Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Frankyfo

I appreciate all the details that you've shared about this inconvenience you're experiencing with your Charge 5.

Before considering other options, please make sure that you've followed all the recommendations listed in this article to properly scan ECG information. In addition, I recommend that you try restarting the device using the three pulse restart method mentioned here below, instead of the restart option found on the Charge 5 itself:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

I'll be around.
