Charge 5 EDA function and steps.

I just completed my first EDA check on my Charge 5 . Before I started my steps were 8,600. After the EDA check my steps jumped to over 17,000 . Not sure if it was exactly double but I carried out another EDA check and after that one my steps read 8,600 again . Has anyone encountered this glitch ?
