Hello everyone!
Just wanting to see what others think of the charge 5 heart rate monitor? Does it keep up with the heart rate during exercise for you? Is it different from your previous HRM reading from your older Fitbit?
I am just trying to figure out if mine is having issues or if others are having similar issues, as I don’t see much posted about the HRM.

I am having the same issue. I used an apple watch for the last few years and just switched over and have found the HRM inaccurate for my workouts by at least 20-30 vs. the apple watch.

I just lived chat support on this issue and they asked me to restart my Fitbit and asked I try it out tomorrow. They state that is one of the "fixes" for the HRM to be off. We will see...

I just upgraded from Charge 3 to Charge 5. It looks like it has a lag in the heart rate monitor. I suspect it is some kind of rolling average. During a workout on an elliptical, my heart rate on the machine reaches a steady level after a few minutes. The Charge 3 lags the real number with an error of as much as 15bpm. By the end of a 20 workout the Charge 5 reaches the same reading as the Elliptical reading. Today, I took my heart rate then ran for about one minute. My heart rate didn't change on the Charge 5 but I could definitely feel my heart beating rapidly. After a minute or so the reading on the Charge 5 increased by 25bpm. This is not acceptable for my use.

Seems fine to me. I've had mine for 12 days, previously used Garmin vivosmart 3 and 4, seems like heart rate recorded during exercise with the Charge 5 has been within about 10 or fewer BPM of what I recall seeing on my Garmin devices. I haven't tried wearing both for a more direct comparison, though.
