Charge 5 Reminders to move stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The reminders are set for every day, 9AM-6PM in the app. Reminders are on.
I get vibration notifications from text messages on my Android phone.
I've done a soft reboot of the device, scrolling up from the main screen.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @DannyS. Welcome to the community forums.

Thank you for providing the details regarding the situation that you are experiencing with reminders to move.

Do Not Disturb Mode or the Sleep Mode (Quiet Modes) could be turned on in your quick settings, since both of these options prevent the device from receiving notifications, reminders to move or celebrations. If you haven't done so already, please make sure these feature are disabled in your settings.

Please perform the restart procedure with the three pulse using the charging cable. In addition, please try setting up the Charge 5 as a new device in your account if you're still having the same problem. Then repeat the restart procedure and set up notifications to check if they're working properly.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately it didn't work.
I deleted all info from the device and removed from the app.
I can't use the "3 pulse" method mentioned as there is no button anywhere on the charging cable.

Any thoughts?

Hello @DannyS

There is a small inset button on the USB end of the charging cable that came with your Charge 5. See picture below.

Thanks! Never noticed it before. Doesn't seem to be any play in it. I'll try that.

Did all of the above. Still no reminder to move vibration. Thoughts?

Hello @DannyS

What I've done when my Reminders to move aren't triggering is:

  • Tap on the device icon in the upper left of the Today page
  • Tap on Charge 5 under Devices
  • Tap on Reminders to move
  • Turn off Get Reminders
  • Tap arrow in upper left and allow device to sync
  • Tap on Reminders to move again
  • Turn on Get Reminders
  • Tap arrow in upper left and allow device to sync
  • Tap on arrow in upper left to return to the Today page
  • Restart the Charge 5 either from the Settings menu on the device or using the charging cable

Hopefully, this process will work for you.

Thanks for the information,  but regrettably it's STILL not working. Frustrating.

Hello @DannyS

I saw that you've tried doing a factory reset (remove user data), which didn't work.

One more thing that you can try is:

  • Disconnect your Charge 5 from the Fitbit app
  • On your phone, clear the cache for the Fitbit app
  • Restart the Charge 5
  • Reconnect your Charge 5 to the Fitbit app

I'm not sure what changed, but I just got a reminder to move! If it fails again I'll try the uninstall/reinstall on the phone app.

I should note that I did NOT clear the cache. So I'm not sure what changed. But thanks for everyone's help.
