Charge 5 Stuck on the Same Step Count

Yesterday, my week old Charge 5 device became stuck on 2,978 steps. I would take more steps, and the device would buzz and congratulate me on 3000 steps. A moment later the Charge 5 and Fitbit app would show 2,978 steps. This happened over and over again. I did everything I could think of to do, including restarting the device, reinstalling the app, disconnecting and reconnecting the device. Nothing worked. Earlier this morning, the step count was stuck on 900 steps. No matter how many steps I took, the device would return to 900 steps. Currently, it seems to be working correctly again, counting steps and not getting stuck a particular step count. However, I'm concerned that the problem will return. Any suggestions for a fix or should I ask for a replacement device?

Hi, @Corvus_ do you by any chance have “Mobile Track” or any other older Fitbits connected to your account?  If so this could be causing the issue and you might want to delete them.

Other than that I can’t think what could have caused that, but as it now seems to be working normally I would recommend keeping an eye on it and posting again if the problem recurs.  There is always someone here to help.
