Charge 5 and Connecting to MapMyRun

I've tried connecting my Charge 5 as a heart monitor to MapMyRun, but when I do, I get the message: "Connection Error Sensor Not Supported." Any thoughts on this? Anyone else had this issue and figured out a work around?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @purestyle02

Thank you for sharing your inquiry about the Charge 5.

Unfortunately the heart rate information is currently not shared between Fitbit and MapMyRun. The information currently shared between MapMyFitness apps and Fitbit are:

 From Fitbit to MapMyFitness

  • Distance
  • Calories
From MapMyFitness to Fitbit
  • None

MapMyFitness operates a suite of fitness apps and services, using a phone’s GPS sensors to provide customers with the ability to map, record, and share their exercise routes and workouts. MapMyFitness apps include MapMyRun, MapMyHike, MapMyRide, and MapMyWalk.

As you can see in this Feature Suggestion as well, our web API and smartwatch SDK are open which means that the service you are wanting can actually integrate with Fitbit. We’d encourage you to make this suggestion to the service and direct them to our existing API and SDK and resources such as the web dev API community. You will likely be able to email them via their contact us page or customer support.

Have a great day.
