If I start logging an activity on my Fitbit app and also start a walk activity on my charge 5, when it syncs after I finish the activity it shows more than double the steps I took. It never did that before. It would adjust to show which one logged more steps. At the same time the app will suddenly fill out my hourly step activity as complete from 9am-2pm, even though it’s only 10am!
I only use the app and my watch to log at the same time when the battery is getting low on my watch because my watch will suddenly die during my walk. All this started 2-3 weeks ago. Anyone else have this issue?

Hello @majorv88
As the Moderator noted, there's been an issue with step tracking and the team has been working on fixing the problem.
That said, there's an update for the Android Fitbit app, ver 4.26.1, that started rolling out today, 25 Sep 2024. I got the update this morning. Although I haven't seen confirmation, I'm hoping that this update fixes the step tracking issue.
The app updates tend to rollout in waves. If you don't see the update right away, keep checking.
So far, I haven't seen any posts about an update for iOS Fitbit app. I suspect one should be rolling out soon, if not at the same time as the Android app.

Hello @majorv88
I've seen some iOS users reporting that they got an app update. So, keep checking in the app store. It should be available to you soon.

Well, updated with the latest iOS update. Still have the same problem. It’s 10am and my Hourly Activity from 9am-2pm is all filled in! My watch died halfway through the walk, but I had started an exercise log on my app just in case. Instead of showing approx 5800 steps the app is showing over 10,000. I already know once I can charge my watch and it can sync it will show what my app says…very frustrating! On top of that the battery still dies faster. I’m seriously considering a different brand. Fitbit just isn’t what it used to be.
