Hi, I had this issue as well for several weeks. Now my Fitbit will no longer turn on. I called Support and they offered me 50 percent off a new device. (My current one is about 20 months old). Very, very disappointed in Fitbit. If anyone has actual suggestions for how to bring the device back to life, please let me know.

I did the exact same thing. I continuously recharge and restart my Fitbit, and it seems to be working. Now battery lasting longer but it is too early to make a conclusion.

I have the same issue. They offer a 50% discount, which is useless when you
read the conditions of the offer. It can not be used to buy Fitbit 6.

Same here! Tried all the steps. Nothing changed. Getting 2 days battery life to just record steps and sleep. My Charge 5 is only a couple of months old too! Plus the new app design is awful and boring!

As I read in the forum the upgraded charge6 is not available for replacement (with the discount) only possibility is to get in touch with customer service and have the tracker replaced with a new charge5. Hope this one will last then …

I got my replacement just now so cannot tell anything about durability, guess we’ll see in a couple of months. Unfortunately on the forum in this topic some of you replied they already had replacements that didn’t last either. If I notice problems with my replaced tracker I will follow up here, just wishing there are good batches of the charge5 somewhere and that we finally will receive one from the good batch (to last us for several years to come)

Wish you all luck and a good lasting charge 😅

So just an update on my warranty claim with Fitbit support (opened Nov. 8th) - they denied my claim on my Charge 5 that died after 3 months because I purchased from a 3rd party retailer on Amazon. I guess my $150 paper weight is going in the trashcan, along with the extra straps and charging stand. Never again, Fitbit.

Hello,

Thank you for reply with the information.
After confirming the copy of the receipt, we confirm that the receipt said: Sold by Sales For You. Not an authorized seller.

So sad to hear that Vulcansheart! I completely understand that you are not convinced in another device from same manufacturer… unfortunately Fitbit does not realize in this case that a happy customer will continue to use their products 🤔
I got my replacement under the guarantee claim and I hope it will last … only time will tell

I have had this recently happen to me.  I had the charge 5 for just over a year and suddenly, and quite literally over night it stop holding charge for a day. I tried their fixes and turned off a bunch of stuff and reset the device but nothing works.  It was holding a charge for six days then less than a day.

I opened a ticket with support just to get the 50% discount email that you can't use on the bulk of their products.  I had been so happy with their products up till this.  It just feels like they dropped the ball here so bad and they just don't care.  I still feel this is a software issue with how sudden this change was.

Hi there JayAz.
it was exactly the same situation for me. Almost a week battery life then on a certain day suddenly nothing, not even a day. As you say it must be a software issue, that is at least what I think…

However my replacement device (another Charge5) is now to about a week battery life. I am therefore happy again and hope this “incident” will not re-occur …

Same here. Was a customer since 2015 and now switched to a Garmin watch/tracker.

You’ll get to know that the 50% discount doesn’t apply on e.g. Charge 6 after you had to decide if you want a replacement or get the 50% to a new device. And it's outrageous that you only get a used replacement for a broken watch and not a new one. The battery fault lies so clearly with Fitbit, be it inferior battery quality or lousy software.

I‘d have bought the Charge 6 with 50% without thinking, but now as I read about the new software update as well, I‘m happy that I switched to another company.

Es una mentira por mas que se sigan los pasos que indican para supuestamente dar una solucion no funciona, es un fracaso total la bateria muere en minutos despues de cargar al 100%.

So the issue was in the update. The problem for us is if we experienced the issue and now our Fitbit charge 5 can no longer charge, we no longer have the ability to get the next firmware update to fix it!

Same for me, but what I will add is that the battery issue started right after an update that was “pushed” to me (I didn’t initiate it).  I used to go days before charging, now it's daily.  I’m apparently now on version 188.58 - not sure what it was before that.  With this update I also lost the ability to change the exercise category that the tracker assigned to an activity, a feature I used often.  This is a Charge 5 that I just got 2 months ago as a “discounted” replacement for my Charge 4 that suddenly died after less than 2 years.  Was very happy with the replacement until now.  All in all, becoming quite frustrated with Fitbit!!

188.58 is the update causing these issues. Others above report the same… 188.58.

Having the same issue. I replaced my Fitbit 3 with a 5 thinking it was the Fitbit but now I realized it was the firmware. I have tried everything they suggested I even have the phone disconnected from my Fitbit. Have tried resetting as well. This morning woke up after have it charge all night the night before with it dead on my arm again. This is unacceptable.with everything turned off I have a glorified pedometer that only lasts 16 hrs in a charge. Google you can do better are you trying to bankrupt Fitbit. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just fix this issue. Don’t tell me to shut off options I paid to have when I chose Fitbit. I am not mad just very disappointed.
