Hello @Calula

I moved your post from the Android platform form to the Charge 5 product help forum since your issue is related to the device and not the Fitbit Android app.

When my Charge 5 started having rapid battery drain, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. As soon as I noticed the battery% had a big drop, I restarted and put my Fitbit on the charger, often doing this multiple times in a day. This process eventually got my Charge 5 "unstuck" and the battery life went back to lasting 6-7 days. Although there's no guarantee that this will work, it might be worth a try.

I am having a similar problem, started Thursday.  Updated firmware, changed watch face, because screen wouldnt display, and now after restarting and charging, it drains about 35% in the space of an hour.  Nothing is enabled on my Chatge 5 either.

Hi there, @Calula @Cetrudden. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that the battery of your Charge 5 devices are draining quickly. I understand your concern, we're here to help!

As a first approach, please try following @RiekoC's tips and recommendations.

If the issue persists,
please try (or confirm you've tried) the following steps:

  1. Confirm your Charge 5 has the latest firmware version. For more information please visit How do I update my Fitbit device? and What's changed in the latest Fitbit device update?
  2. Check to see if you’re using high battery use features. For more information please visit Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
  3. Let’s try a 3 press restart with your charging cable. For more information please see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Nonetheless, please bear in mind that as all rechargeable batteries age, they deteriorate to some extent and an older device will need to be charged more often than a new one. The best way of minimizing this effect is to avoid deep discharges of the battery. To maximize the overall life of your Fitbit device's battery, ideally keep it between 20-80%.  Many people find that a daily battery boost works best ( e.g. giving it a 15 minutes charge while you are showering in the morning).
