Hi, I am just wondering if FitBit is doing anything to resolve known issues that seem to come suddenly after a year-18 months…it seems we are all in the same boat. Most glaringly, the battery drain issue that comes suddenly and leads to its death. Has anyone been able to get a refund or at least a discount toward another product? It seems like every user has the same problem and it doesn’t seem fair or right for a product to go bad that quickly. My husband and I have the same issue of sudden battery drain after a year-18 months.

Hi there, @Jilder. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that the battery of the Charge 5 devices are draining quickly. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
As a first approach, please bear in mind that as all rechargeable batteries age, they deteriorate to some extent and an older device will need to be charged more often than a new one. The best way of minimizing this effect is to avoid deep discharges of the battery. To maximize the overall life of your Fitbit device's battery, ideally keep it between 20-80%. Many people find that a daily battery boost works best ( e.g. giving it a 15 minutes charge while you are showering in the morning).
Because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary. For more information, see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
Please note that our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy is set into providing as much coverage as we can. For more information about our warranty, see fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

So if we live outside the EEA this product is not under warranty after a year, just the time when the battery starts to fail. It’s strange, because one would expect a battery issue to come on slowly, but it happened very suddenly, for both my husband and I. Going from a weekly charge to needing daily charge, literally overnight, like a switch. Seems more like a hardware issue.
