Wife's bricked up when it ran the battery down. Firmware version was the 188.58 version.
Mine still working well with FW 194.91. can't remember last time I ran the battery all way down

From the gunk on the charging ports. I suspect she had been leaving it on when washing dishes,etc..
I doubt detergents are any good for seals and such. Went ahead and replaced with a C6.

I've washed dishes while wearing my Charge 5. However, I made sure to dry both my wrist and the back of my device after doing the dishes.
If your wife uses body lotion or other skin products on her arms, that could also cause a build up around the charging area.
