Charge 5 battery is draining too quickly

I’ve had my Charge 5 for 8 months and previously owned a Charge 4 for 2 years and never had a problem like this. A few days ago, out of the blue, it started dying rapidly. Yesterday its battery drained from 100% to 0% in under 6 hours. This morning its battery drained from 100% to 20% in under 5 hours. I don’t know what to do; I have GPS and Always Display off, and it works fine it just has a battery problem. I would love to know how I can fix this.

Hi there, @Izz14775. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.

If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article to improve battery life in general, as this has been generally useful for other users. In addition, please complete a three pulse restart following the steps listed here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end if the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

The battery can last up to 7 days; because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary, but the battery shouldn't be draining only after a few hours.

Happening to my wife's Charge 5.  I followed the above instructions and dies after about 2 hours.   Purchased from Best Buy in Nov, 2022.  What else can I do?

Hi and welcome to the community forums @Scott265

Sorry to hear that your wife is having a battery issue with her Charge 5. Thank you for confirming that you've already tried the troubleshooting tips.

When the battery power began to drop very quickly in my Charge 5, doing multiple restarts over a couple of days seemed to fix that issue. I suggest trying that to see if the restarts will clear the issue on your wife's Charge 5. If that doesn't work, then I suggest contacting Fitbit support since her Charge 5 is still under warranty.

That didn’t work. No logo appeared.
