Charge 5 battery stangeness

So I've owned my 5 for a couple of years with no issues. Now suddenly it's saying the battery is drained and becomes unresponsive. Yesterday I couldn't get it to even reboot or charge then last night I put it on the charger and it kicked in. I charged it up to 100 and put it on and thought things were fine.

Wake up this morning dead again, put it on the charger and the logo popped up and then the battery icon and it says I'm at 35%. Um what? Tried trouble shooting with customer service today, removed apps and rebooted. Well after two hours the thing said it was drained again. 

Here's the strangeness. I got the critical battery thing and the app said I was down to 4% before it officially died. So strange is I get home, put it on the charger and it kicks in and says I'm at 45% right away. Any ideas what's going on here? According to the app it just went from 83 to 56 in ten minutes. How does it die and then say I'm actually at a half charge when I put it on the charger.

I'm not sure what's going on with your Charge 5 battery. That is rather strange behavior.

When my Charge 5 battery started having rapid drop in power, I restarted & recharged my device multiple times over several days. This got my Charge 5 "unstuck" and the battery went back to last 6-7 days. There's no guarantee that you'll have similar results, but it's worth a try.

Thanks @RiekoC I'll keep trying. I was hoping that having it drain completely and then charging might help but when it tells me it's drained and then it's not really it's sort of weird. It's like it thinks it's dead but it's not really or something. 🙂 Bizarro
