Black screen for no reason on Charge 5. Not even 6 months old. I have done all the restart steps and nothing is changing.

Although you didn't mention it, I take it that your Charge 5 still had battery life when the display went black. Since you've tried the recommended troubleshooting steps and your device is less than 6 months old, the next step would be to contact Support (<-- click link). Continue completing the prompts until you get to the page with the contact options.
Personally, I had better response when I called versus chat.

Left my Fitbit Charge 5 charging for a day after I got a black screen as well, and the screen went back to life. In my case, the sensors and syncing were all working normally. The battery life though was still horrible, lasting for a day at best.

I had mine 16 weeks and they told me to send it back for replacement. Sent the box with the charger, bands, and Charge 5 watch face as I still had it all. I was sent back a small envelope with only a refurbished Charge 5 watch face, nothing else. They kept everything else. Then, after chats, calls, and twitter Fitbit support they are sooooo so graciously sending me refurbished bits and pieces and no original box with my serial numbers or anything. RIDICULOUS.. WHO DOES THIS?
