Charge 5 blank screen

My Fitbit Charge 5 had been functioning normally for an extended period, but it suddenly went black yesterday afternoon. The device had been fully charged the day before, but now the screen won’t turn on, it’s no longer syncing with my phone, and attempts to restart it using the USB charging cable have failed. At this point, the device is completely unrespo.

Similar issue here. I think it’s begun since I updated the app to v4.45 yesterday. The Fitbit won’t charge or restart, I just get the flashing logo and vibration on the pebble screen when it’s plugged into the power cable. Can’t see how to report this to Google but it’s clearly a bug.

Mine is acting up too. When I do the force restart the screen just goes blank again.

My Fitbit Charge 5 is completely non-functional at the moment. The screen stays black, and I’ve tried all possible methods to restart it, but nothing has worked. It is essentially in an unusable state.

I also have the same issues, and I can't find anyway to contact fitbit since they've been bought by Google.  It's making me to give up with fitbit and cancel my subscription, as its useless!!

Same problem here. Something bricked the device, still shows 21% battery but can't turn it on, connect to it, or reset via charger button.

SAME. 😩 It was working fine on Friday and then yesterday I got the black screen and now it won't come back. I've been trying to figure it out all morning.

Mine is acting up too. Screen went blank and it states it charged at 67%. It wont even respond if plugged inthe charging cable

Everything was fine until after I updated the app. 👎🏻 It won't reconnect to my phone after I uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Same here - happened on Friday.  But still working as I've just received notification to go to bed!  But blank screen since Friday even though I have reset it several times - get the smiley icon, but no display at all.

My screen went black completely on Thursday morning, after charging fully overnight. Same issue as KarynMP @KarynMP has anyone on this forum had any response on the issue? @Rosieannbailey any luck contacting google?

I did an online chat with Fitbit support on here. They can’t do anything to help, though they did try, and they did offer a discount code off a new tracker. They said they would report it to the developers in case it is a bug, but I think it’s too late for us now.

Mine just came back to life... Pressed the button on the charger and this time it immediately turned on (not even the 3 press restart etc). Maybe they pushed an update to unbrick them??

My screen is working again today but not measuring heart rate and not working properly.

Fitbit support was a great help and I have a new one ordered

What button on the charger?  My charger does not have a button.  I have done the factory reset multiple times with varying results, and still end up with a totally blank screen.  I am ready to bag Fitbit, for sure.

There's a small inset button on the charging cable that came with your Charge 5. This help page (<-- click) has the 3 ways to restart your Charge 5.

Have you had a chance to check the Settings tile on your Charge 5 and confirm that Heart rate is turned on? It might have gotten turned off somehow.

Hi! There is a small button on one side of the flat end of the charger,
where the cable attaches to the plug. It is flush to the side so you don’t
notice it straight away.
