Charge 5 blank screen

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

First Charge 5 lasted just about 1 year before the black screen/brick/red x issue. Received a replacement. 11 months later, the second one has same issue.

Both watches worked fine and held charge for several days, even with GPS always on.

Firmware update?

I tried the reset procedure several times and will leave it connected to the charger overnight.

If this watch isn't working again by tomorrow morning, I deleting my fitbit account.

A device that lasts less than a year should be free.

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Charge 5 is still blank. I understand your concern as this is your second Fitbit device. I will do my best to help you with this!

If you haven't done so yet, please try the steps below:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap your Fitbit device image.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

"Sync Now" does nothing. Last sync was 19 hours ago when something bricked my device. Device was charged >60% and worked fine throughout the day.

Cannot perform restart or changing clock face because the device does not respond to swiping the screen. Whether or not connected to charger, it is dead.

I ordered a new device from a different manufacturer. It arrives in a few days. I am most certain that will solve my problem.
