Hello,
My mother's Charge 5 screen image color started changing, becoming lighter since April 15. Then flickers and then a few days ago the screen no longer turns on. No amount of tapping on it works. Restarting using the charging cable does not work.
The device does vibrate still when I restart using the cable and my mother says it does still vibrate when she reaches what she assumes are step goals she just can't tell since the screen doesn't come on. Further, the device does still sync to app.
The issue is, the screen remains dark/blank. Is there a fix for this? The device is from 2023, a replacement received within warranty at the time.

Having the same problem with my charge5. It charges and syncs and vibrates. Sometimes the screen does come back and it will go dark again though.
It can still trace the steps and heartbeat. So must be a screen problem. Did your charge5 go yellowish light before going dark as well??

If you haven't done so yet, please try the steps below:
If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device once again as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

@MarreFitbit Your suggestions were all tried as my initial self troubleshooting. Does not work to fix.
The Charge 5 was the Continuum clockface, I had changed it to Retro. Charge 5 vibrated I guess indicating the change. However because the screen is now not turning on, I have no way to knowing if it's changed.
Further, I tried to change back to the Continuum clockface (not that it matters since I can't see it anymore) but Continuum is no longer available to change back to in the app.
