Charge 5 calories high?

Hey.

Had my charge 5 for two weeks and I'm wondering if calorie burn is too high.

Just did a 45 min treadmill walk between 3-3.5mph for 45 minutes with a mixture of 4-8 incline and tapped into fat burn and cardio zones.

Calories burnt are over 700 calories burned, the treadmill estimated 300.

Am I missing something? I'm a 33 year old male 240lbs

Thanks!

@Streetdave Does your treadmill ask you to input your height, weight, sex, and age? Because your treadmill doesn't have that info and your Fitbit does. For your weight, it's very possible that you're burning a good amount of calories from a 45 minute walk that gets you into fat burn and cardio zones. I'm a petite woman (36 and around 125lbs) and I ran on my treadmill for an hour this morning, almost all peak zones, and my Fitbit said I burned 571 calories. My treadmill overestimates calories burned because the majority of treadmills are calibrated to show the burn rate for the average man.

Now, the calories might be overestimated a little on your Fitbit because Fitbit also adds in your "resting" calories (the calories your body burns when it's completely sedentary) during any activity, but it's probably not a whole lot.
