In addition to not displaying my sleep for 2 weeks now,  this evening it dropped/zeroed all steps from today.  Restart does nothing.  Suggestions?

@M2deBZ , A warm welcome to the Community ! Thank you for your message.

The Charge 5 as all other Fitbit devices will reset to 0 at midnight. This is normal and expected.

But after syncing your Charge 5 with the Fitbit app your steps from the previous day will be shown in the app

Yesterday, I logged over 10,000 steps. This morning, I went to the gym, came home and placed my Fitbit on the charger prior to my shower. It was then I noticed that my steps were listed at being over 14,000 steps, so it appeared it was adding the steps onto the previous days number. I believe I then did a sync and it then zeroed out all steps for today. When I looked at my steps for yesterday, they were listed correctly at the 10,500, but now I had lost all steps from the treadmill this morning. 😞

@SherriMonkee , Nice to see you here. Thank you for sharing your information.

Please try syncing your Charge 5 before continuing with these instructions.

After syncing the Charge 5 go to your browser and the to your online Dashboard (fitbit.com)
Please verify that the info on the app and on the online Dashboard matches.
This will me determine if the info on the app is shown correctly or has some delays to be given.

I synced and I went online to my dashboard. Unfortunately, the online version does match with the app on my phone. Does that mean I lost the approximate 4,000 steps that I had accumulated this morning on the treadmill? That is unfortunate since I am in challenges that require getting a certain number of steps per day. I don't have the time to be re-doing steps that I had already completed.

@SherriMonkee , Thank you for your reply!

Did you log any activity manually in the same time frame where the treadmill run took place. If so this could explain everything.
A manual logged activity will overwrite the information that was recorded with your Fitbit.
Try deleting the activity and the steps should re appear.

I did not. Not intentionally anyways. If something was manually logged, would I be able to see that somewhere in order for me to try deleting?
