Shortly speaking: my screen is no longer at normal brightness, I can barely see the screen during normal setting and it’s still dim at the brightest setting.
I have tried to hard reset and check the sleep mode is off, none of which resolved my issue.
More details: I went to the beach for a swim with my charge 5, after that I took a shower and took it off to dry. After an hour or so, my screen was just a plain brightest light for as long as it took to turn off. I got home charged and reset it with no success of getting the brightness back to normal.
Is it possible that this is water damage? Am I not supposed to swim in it? Or is it saltwater that damaged it? I have taken it to the pool often with no bad experiences. I bought it on the assumption that I can swim in it.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Username0.
Thank you for sharing that you've been experiencing this inconvenience with your Charge 5 and that you already tried a few troubleshooting steps.
As you mentioned earlier, when the screen is dim, this is usually resolved by making sure the device is not on Sleep Mode or by restarting the device and adjusting the brightness settings.
In this case, if you already tried these steps or if you started to experience these problems right after you used the device to swim, I do recommend that you get in touch with the Customer Support team for further assistance with this, since your device should be water resistant for up to 50 meters. They will let you know how to proceed.
