My fitbit CH5 got stuck on Fitbit logo, turning on and off non stop. This is happening for the second time but u believe this is definitive. From what I have read on forums this is problem that lot of customers have. Few months after warranty they get stuck on Fitbit logo and can do nothing but buy new watch. Is this intentional to force customers?

Hi @Jacob97, welcome to the Community Forums.
I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 got stuck in the fitbit logo for the second time. Let me help you with this issue.
Did you attempt to factory reset the device from the settings ?
If your device is unresponsive and stuck in the fitbit logo, i suggest to follow the steps below:
- Attempt to sync through the Fitbit app. From the Today tab on the app, tap the devices icon and then their device and then Sync Now.
- If Sync Now doesn’t show an update banner, tap the devices icon > your Charge 5 > Gallery. The app should show a pop up to install the missing apps and recover the device.
- If you are unable to sync restart your device. Refer to How do I restart my Fitbit device? for instructions.

Hello David,
Im unable to sync according to your instructions, because the device is not able to connect to my phone.
Restarting the device also didn’t do anything.

Hello @Jacob97
Another Charge 5 user with a similar issue exposed their device to freezer temps, which fixed the problem for them. Here's the thread (<-- click link) where they explain what they did. Although there's no guarantee that this will work for you, it might be worth a try.

Hello @RiekoC ,
well the freezing worked but only for a while. After taking it from freezer and letting it warm up I plugged it into charger. After few hours they started working bud after a while it stopped charging. Now the watch is dead without possibility to charge. (Charger is working and giving 6V DC output)

Hello @Jacob97
Thank you for providing your update. Sorry to see that the freezer exposure didn't provide a long lasting solution.
Hopefully, the Moderator will reply back with other options.

Hi @RiekoC and @Jacob97. Thank you for your responses. I'm sorry to hear that your issue hasn't been resolved.
It's quite interesting how temperature works on these silicone devices. Upon consulting with our support team, i've confirmed that you have already got in contact with them, even prior posting on the community. Thank for your reactivity.
My suggestion at this point would be to follow the instructions you received from our support team.
Note: Keep in mind that all Fitbit devices must be charged with standard usb power of 5 volts dc.

Hello @DavidFitbit ,
I did contact support and they provided me with the same steps I found on internet and have seen that this is common issue. On that note I was really frustrated that Fitbit just does not care and basically told me to buy new device for full price.
(voltage was around 5,3-5,6 V)

Try the freezer trick. I think this is the only thing that can help https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-5/Charge-5-stuck-on-Fitbit-logo/m-p/5640151#M67040

I am having exactly the same problem with mine. I do think it’s a planned obsolescence thing because it’s almost exactly 18 months old.
