Hi there, I have a Charge 5 that is a few years old now and it is definitely on the way out now. I cannot use the ECG component now otherwise it dies and I cannot sync it without it dying either sooo this could mean that it's definitely not accurate at alll but I have noticed in the last weeks I have caught my HR sitting around 135 ish while lying down or resting. I haven't felt like my HR was that high but seeing this has worried me. I have a history or heart palpitations but this has been just random. After taking it off for a bit I have put it back on and my HR has normalised to high.

Hello @cu2mmins
I moved your post from the Charge 6 product forum to the Charge 5 product forum since that's the device you mention in your post.
Since you mentioned that your Charge 5 already has issues, I would question whether the heart rate is still accurate. It would be worth your piece of mind to have another way to confirm if you're truly experiencing a high heart rate. Maybe a pulse oximeter would be a good investment. They are usually not too pricey and can give a quick reading to help confirm if you're having heart rate issues.
If you're concerned about your heart rate, please consider discussing this with your healthcare provider. They are the most qualified to provide the right guidance.

The heart rate monitoring feature of the Charge 5 is notably unreliable also during exercise.
While running, it consistently registers unusually high heart rates. For instance, during a 40-minute run, it indicated that I was on peak heart rate for 30 minutes, which seems implausible as sustaining peak heart rate for such a duration is unlikely.
Additionally, when attempting to lower my heart rate to the cardio zone (around 160 beats per minute), I found myself merely walking instead of running.
It's disconcerting to observe inaccurate readings, especially when they suggest that my heart rate is at its peak. I'm curious if there are any methods available to enhance the accuracy of heart rate measurements with this device, or if it's primarily suited for general monitoring purposes.
