Charge 5 hot when charging

On June 15 my fitbit Charge 5 stopped working. It wouldn't charge not reset. The app kept saying the device needed to be updated. I kept trying to update it but it was erroring out. I then realized the app needed to be updated as well so I did update the app. The device however wouldn't update nor connect. After about 6 hours it seemed to be working but then the battery wouldn't hold a charge and it was dying after a few hours. Today, it died and I charged it as I normally do but when I checked it the device was hot. I stopped charging it and now it won't charge and the screen is black. Not sure if there is anything else to try but thought I'd reach out for help. Thanks for any advice.

Hi, @Minorni_fit welcome to the community, you should talk to "Customer Support" using the chat facility or phone for a prompt response. It's a good idea to note the steps you've taken & results so you can brief the agent clearly and give them the opportunity to understand your issue quickly. You do not mention when you bought your Charge 5, you may have the benefit of Fitbit's "warranty", note when & where you bought it.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Curious what you found out, my Charge 5 is doing the same. I can't charge it, both the cord and the fitbit are soooo hot

Hi, @VV727, welcome, talk to Customer Support ASAP, and do not attempt further charging of your Charge 5.

Here's an article which talks about this issue and that it is a result of a fitbit update.
