When I select/start recoding a 'walk' from Chsrge 5 directly I can only then see the ongoing stats of the walk on the device and I cannot double tap to show me the actual clock/time. Is there a way I can scroll/tap to see the actual time/clock rather than the live exercise stats?

@Paullubs I don't have a Charge 5, but the Charge 5 should behave just like the Luxe, which I do have. The top and the bottom stat are fixed and are different for different exercises. You can scroll through the available middle stats by repeatedly tapping lightly on the middle stat. The current time is one of the middle stats.

I have the Charge 5. On the Charge 4 you could scroll through from the middle.
On the 5 (at least when it's on Run), you can scroll through the time etc by scrolling down the little arrow/number at the bottom of the screen. As that moves, the main big number displays a different stat, like time, distance, pace etc.
On some of the screens, the clock is actually a small number at the top of the screen I think. I keep mine on heart rate as the main stat when I'm jogging and the time is possible to access too.
