Charge 5 is logging exercise I didn't do

My fitbit has started randomly adding exercise I haven't done. It gets added some point the next day and is just ridiculous. I have had a random walk lasting an hour where I apparently walked 7.8miles adding 18000+ plus steps to my day. Tuesday morning evening thing was fine but by Tuesday evening it wasn't. This isn't an auto tracker thing, it was a bank holiday I was sat on my sofa eating crisps and certainly not out walking anything near 8 miles! This has happened a few times with apprent late night walks when I'm asleep etc too, any ideas what's wrong either my device?

@Lucyduk @ColonelKDuffy , A warm welcome to the Community ! Thank you for your messages and the picture attached.

There can be various reasons why your activities were  recorded or recognized  incorrectly.

For example, the activity is not fully recognized by your movement patterns.

Or, you performed a movement pattern, that can be identified as another activity.

I recommend restarting your Charge 5  and setting different start times for activities. For example, set it to 10 minutes for a walk, 15 for a run, 20 for an outdoor bike ride, etc., and/or ignoring the activities you don't use.

You can find the instructions for this here.
