Charge 5 is not syncing properly

Why does the app keep getting worse?  Must be since last update.  Google doesn't seem to remember that my device has been previously connected.  It asks for permissions every time!  I view my Charge 5 and wife's Luxe on my Pixel 5a (she has no smartphone).  I use to be able to switch Google user in the app and her homepage would show up.  Now anytime I switch users it asks to link, then it asks for pairing, then it asks to allow, then you swipe to sync.  I thought I had a "smart"watch.  Last month I was able to switch users without any extra effort.

Hi there, @tcat007. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is not syncing properly with your phone. I will do my best to help you with this.

To better assist you, may I know if you created a separate account for each Fitbit device?

Note that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Charge 4, Fitbit Charge 5, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, Fitbit Luxe, Fitbit Sense, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time.

In the other hand, if your two family members are using the same mobile phone to sync the Fitbit devices, please bear in mind that you'll need to log out of your Fitbit account before the other one can sync their watch. I also recommend taking away the Fitbit device that is not going to be synced to avoid any interference with the one you want to sync at that time.

Nevertheless, please make sure that the mobile phone you're using meets the requirements listed here.

For troubleshooting steps, please see Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and/or Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Phone is no issue (Google Pixel 6a).  Wife and I have our own Google sign in.  Both do sync individually.  It's just that once you log out of one account, Google/Fitbit seems to forget your preferences.  Most other apps remember your permissions and don't ask again.  Before previous update, I was able to switch Google users within the Fitbit app.  Now I have to log out, log back in with other account, and go through 2 or 3 screens of permission requests.  It all functions, it just seems the last update makes it much more time consuming.

Also...  When I log into wife's account, the new sleep UI shows up.  Then I log into mine and it's the old sleep UI.  Same app, same phone.
