Welcome to the Fibit community, @dFfrfr4!

Sad to hear that you're having issues with your Charge 5. I'd suggest trying to restart your device by closely following these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:

1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a reliable power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.

If this won't work for you on the first run, please give it another try. If it still won't solve your issue, I'd suggest to contact Fitbit support to get further assistance as your device might be defective:

Hi there, @dFfrfr4. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5.

In addition to the steps recommended by @Talahthas, please check if your Charge 5 is not set on "Always-On" as this feature will only show you the time on the main screen all the time, unless you press the button of your watch to see other features and stats. If Always-On is enabled, to exit this mode, turn your wrist toward you, press the button, or double-tap the display. For more information, see How do I see the time on my Fitbit device?
