Charge 5 is taking too long to sync

My new Charge 5 takes hours to sync everyday. I used to be able to sink my Charge 3 that I had since 2019 in about 3 seconds. I would check the app multiple times a day to check my calories burned, my heart rate, my exercise stats, etc. I would check it every morning for my sleep score. With the charge 5, I cannot sync the app for hours at a time. I often don’t bother checking it for days as it takes so long to sync. I want to check my sleep score every morning and use the watch to its full capabilities but at the moment it is just an expensive watch. Why does it take so long? I have an iPhone SE 2nd gen and my phone is fully updated.

I am so disappointed with how much worse the watch and app have become to when I had my charge 3 just months ago. It’s almost as though they are actively trying to lose customers! How can I fix this daily syncing issue? I’ve already gone through customer service and they said to update my phone which is already updated.

Hi there, @SDfit123. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and sharing the details about the issue with your Charge 5. I understand how you must be feeling.

As a first approach, please confirmed that you've tried all tips and recommendations provided here Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

If the above doesn't work, I'd recommend trying the following steps:

  • Unpair your Charge 5 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Charge 5.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Charge 5.
  • Set up notifications again.
  • Once your Charge 5 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.
