Is it normal for a lot of steps to be counted if I'm driving a car? I'm not looking for perfection but I'm not looking for thousands more steps a day either. Thank you

Hi, @Smauri , yes, that is not unusual - especially if you are driving along bumpy roads or if the car has less than perfect suspension.
There are a number of ways of dealing with this. The simplest is probably to pop it in your pocket when you are driving significant distances. It is much less likely to count false steps when worn on the core because on your wrist it can pick up vibrations from the steering wheel which will be interpreted as steps by the Fitbit. Another solution could be to put it on the charger while you are driving, because as long as it is connected to the charger it will not count steps.
It is possible to delete these false steps. The instructions are here . I hope this helps!

Hello @Smauri
Fitbits use a 3-axis accelerometer to count steps. Driving on bumpy roads can cause your device to register the movement as steps.
For what it's worth, I've gone on long drives (6+ hours) and my device tracked some steps, but it wasn't a large amount. Definitely not enough to meet the hourly 250 step goal.

Even sleep detection is not accurate and all you have to do is sit on the sofa and watch a film that starts recording... Do you confirm this too?

Hi, @Smauri , I have not myself experienced that - I guess because I am not a very relaxed person 😏. However I am aware that if your Fitbit detects no movement, relaxed breathing, and lowered heart rate it will begin to detect sleep when you may only be quietly watching television. I would say that that is pretty much the Fitbit doing its job, but you may look at it differently. It is easy enough to delete a false nap if that happens.
