I have not even had my Charge 5 for year. Purchased 8/34/2023. I used swim mode and when I got out of the pool I had an unresponsive fitbit. I read through the community and tried the trouble shooting suggested and now I have an unresponsive fitbit with a red light.
After reading through all the stuff on community seems like this is a common problem and I never did see that anyone actually got it resolved so my I have little faith that it will be.
Moderator edit: clarified subject.

I am having the same problem. Set Fitbit for a workout, begin, then part way through - usually twenty-thirty minutes in - I have a black screen and unresponsive Charge 5. So a fitness tracker that does not track. Kind of useless.
It resets, sometimes, when I put it on the charger and many times I have to do the hard reset with the button on the plug.
This is my second FitBit (the last one died too) and based on the changes made to the available functions and tracking, or removing quite popular functions, and this ongoing issue, it may be time to find a different watch.

It is very frustrating. The hard reset worldview even being mine back to life. I have had cheaper trackers that worked better they just didn't have ask the bells and whistles I wanted. They are going to replace mine since it is not even a year old. Might be worth reaching out to customer service and see if they can do anything.

Yes Customer service was helpful. Better to call instead of using the chat feature IMO. I keep getting disconnected from the chat.
