My Charge 5 went dead a couple days ago. I have tried all the troubleshooting tips. When I press the button on the charging cable three times the logo comes on very briefly and then it’s black again. I tried changing the clock face and that didn’t work either. I have resorted to using my old Charge 2.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. It went dead, black screen red light at the back. Tried all troubleshooting (restart with charging cable and changing the clock face) with no lock. It vibrates but does not come back.

Hi there, @Sharoncs. It's nice to see you around! @Gabababa Welcome on board! Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 devices are still unresponsive. I understand your concerns, I will do my best to help you with this!
As a first approach, please confirm that you have tried restarting your Charge 5 as described below:
- Connect your Fitbit device to the charger.
- Quickly lift it off and put it back on.
- After a half-second pause, repeat this pick-up-and-place move 3 more times, all within 8 seconds.
If the above doesn't work and your device is still unresponsive, please try the following reset:
- Plug in the charging cable
- Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses.
- Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
In a addition, please make sure you've tried and attempted all troubleshooting steps provided here Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

I have tried everything suggested above and my Fitbit is still unresponsive. I can feel it vibrating but the logo doesn’t come up and it is still fully black screen.

If it is still under waranty, best to contact your retailer. If not, you may want to contact Google fitbit support by opening a case.
You may have a firmware 194.91, this version is notorious among faulty charge 5’s.

Same here. Flashing the logo and vibrating every 2 seconds or so. Same non-helpful response from online ChatBot as well.

Hello @bernardpotatoe
One of our users exposed their Charge 5 with a flashing logo to freezer temps and was able to get it working again. Here's the thread (<-- click link) if you want to read about it.
This method helped some, but not all. It might be worth a try.
