Today my Fitbit 5 showed the Fitbit logo on the screen, then the screen went dark and unresponsive. My Fitbit is at 84% battery when this happened. It is no longer syncing with my phone and it wont turn on. I tried multiple times to restart using the button on the charger with no luck. My Fitbit 5 is still unresponsive.

Update 6/17 tried one last time this morning to put it on the charger before tossing it and it connected and i let it charge (wasn't dead, not sure why it was it was unresponsive)about 30 min before the gym. The time was off but it did record my steps and zone min. Seems to be working now...we'll see how long it lasts. 🤞
Mine did the same thing today. I'm curious if anyone has a fix.

Same issue. My screen went blank yesterday. My husband was able to restart and indicated a software update was needed, which he installed. Today it wasn't properly gathering data like sleep scores, etc. basically just steps. The battery was also draining quickly and even after charging again, it is down to 1% battery. The last time this happened I had to replace my Charge 5 and they did not provide any rebate or support for the issue.

Same happened to me, 5 days ago. Have tried all advised troubleshooting but still not working. Was 2 years old in Jan 24, so out of Warranty. Contacted Fitbit Support by chat and also spoken to them - they have sent email saying that it needs replaced, as no repair option, but as out of warranty, can only offer 35% discount. After reading so so many similar stories, decided not to replace with a Fitbit. I expected to get a lot more than 2 years from this watch. Very disappointed.😢

My Charge 5 also is unresponsive. I've tried everything. I've had this watch for just 2 years and quite disappointed with this product.

My screen went black 2 days ago. The tracker is not charging and is completely non-responsive 😔. It was replaced a year ago when I alsp had battery charge holding issues. If so many trackers as posts here went off at the same time by chance is bizzare!

I contacted Fitbit via FB. Apparently, if I lived in Europe; it would be covered under warranty for 2 years. They offered me a 35% discount to stay in the Fitbit Family.
I have 5 options I may use the discount on. Charge 5 isn't even an option to buy again. So, they're truly aware of the issue.

Thanks. I'm trying to contact via the chat function within the app but it keeps hanging on creating a chat. In any case, seems like I need to look for my next tracker. Fitbit or not.

Yesterday, I looked and reviewed other makes/models (via Which magazine and other 'google' reviews and Fitbit on the whole still come out as good value. I also was not offered a Charge 5, so reluctantly used the 35% discount and ordered a Charge 6.
It does seem very strange this has happened to so many people. Fingers crossed my new one lasts a lot l

I managed to speak to Fitbit support again, yesterday, to troubleshoot again but still unresponsive and they confirmed again it needed to be replaced 😢
Am hoping my new Charge 6 lasts longer 🤞

Mine did the same thing yesterday, tried to reset. Nothing works. Screen is black and will not charge. I have read multiple forums last evening and looks like this is an ongoing problem for the Charge 5 and Fitbit will not recognize it. I have read that some people were offered 30% off and they got new devices. I will be calling customer care today. Very frustrating.

Yes, 35% off but you may only use it on 5 products is what I discovered. It's rather pathetic how Fitbit is choosing to handle this.

My tracker seems to have come back!. I've switched on the fitbit app to google in desperation as the tracker was just dead. Then I contacted customer support but was failing to connect. I received an e-mail from them today. I don't know if they made any software changes on the account at their end but I tried again and it was charging as usual! It has been very weird as my app was showing 28% battery at the time the screen turned black. The battery couldn't have drained in one day but I remeber have put it to charge because the tracker was showing 7%.

I agree, I'm on my 3rd Fitbit in 5 years, they just stop. The funny thing is, it seems we all have the same issue on or around the same day and, my phone app is suddenly again trying to force me to tie it to Google. I took it off the charger, it read 100% then went black and no amount of trying to get it to work is successful. I'm moving on from Fitbit, if I don't find one I like, maybe it's time to stop tracking everything.

I really think this is their way of forcing us to Google. I find it very suspect that the charge read 100%, the screen goes blank and suddenly my app is needing me to log in and wants me to use Google. All this happened between 15 and 17 June.

My Charge 5 also went dark on 6/19/2024. According to my app, when it was last synced my battery was at 52%. After reading all these similar problems I just switched my account to Google but it still is dark and will not sync. Seems very strange that so many of us had the same problem withion a few days of each other. I'm reaching out to Fitbit now for help and will update this reply after.

I spoke with someone in tech support. He wanted me to try and change the clock face but my Fitbit app wouldn't connect so he sent my problem up the ladder. Within 15 minutes I received an email stating I can purchase another with a 50% discount through the Google store since I converted to Google account.
